9.1 Action!!
As a result of going on the ACCE Study Tour to NECC, I’d recommend the following:
(1) A one-hour weekly PD session with all staff in the Junior School Management team.
I believe strongly (and research presented at the conference supports this) that education managers need to know, understand and be involved with Web 2.0 technologies. Web 2 technologies will help them in the management of their areas and also allow them to model back to staff.
(2) Year 7 unit of work that uses ’social networking’ sites and Web2 technologies.
They will have their own blog and be lead through a range of tasks that include adding to their blogs (posts, comments, blogrolls, images), using web tools to create media (befunky, voicethread) and importing an image from Inspiration.
